I am all moved in! There were definitely some bumps in the road getting to the Columbus area, but the important thing is that I'm here, alive, and well. My vet school roommate (also a VM1) partially moved in yesterday and will be finishing later today.

I've been putting together furniture, shopping, getting some OSU errands done, exploring my surrounding area (as well as driving around aimlessly); it's weird to have had this much free time to do absolutely nothing (I guess I shouldn't really get used to it though)! One day I happened to be at OSU and so I drove to the vet school. Outside I saw a group of vet students in scrubs and what looked to be clinicians. The clinicians were discussing something important and students were intently listening/writing things down. It was right then when my mind finally realized, "holy crap, that will be me soon!?!" I still can't believe that I got accepted, and that tomorow is the start of orientation.

Speaking of which: is it possible to be full of so much conflicting emotion? I start orientation tomorrow...I am so excited and yet so nervous. I'm sad to leave everything behind but happy to start a new phase of life. I want summer to end but I don't want summer to end. I'm ready to start but scared to begin. I know I will be fine...I always worry and think about things beforehand, but when the time comes to do what I need to do, I always muster up the strength and do fine (or even great). So...I guess the next time I write, I will have officially become a vet student... :)

Welcome!

Hello there! As you can guess by the title of my blog I'm a vet school student. Well...actually I don't officially start my first year until the end of September, but...close enough!

I hope to document this time in my life for two reasons. 1) In the future, I'd like to remember what I was going through in my vet school days and 2) I want to give anyone who is interested a view of what vet school is actually like!

This is just the first post but in the future I'll write more about my journey about how I was accepted and tell you a little more about what is going on! I'm excited for the journey that lies ahead!
